Creator’s Blog – Eccentricity

I’ve always liked the strange, the out-there, the differently-motivated characters in stories. And originally, I’d populated Hard Drive 13 with an assortment of weirdoes out of my imagination and bizarre experience. But there were always three. Three crazy crusaders diving into the nuttiness of a world gone mad. And the world of science, politics and conspiracy is definitely crazy, eccentric and humorous. For instance, one possibility for dark matter is “weakly interacting massive particles” or WIMPs. But there’s another possibility. So of course scientists tortured acronyms to come up with MACHOs (massive astrophysical compact halo objects). In Hard Drive 13,…

However, I managed to come across a document about something called a Stellar Drive, and it has fascinated me ever since. It’s basically two electromagnets, switched on and off very rapidly, so that the first sends out a magnetic…

Creator’s Blog – Genesis

A drearier job I cannot imagine; alone in a hotel through the wee hours, cross-checking the phone messages and room charges, with the occasional relief of kicking someone out of the pool. There was a lot of time to think, read, and, to be honest, watch movies on the television in the back office. I suppose it’s not unusual that my mind began to run to thoughts of other worlds; what they were like, who lived there, and how you…
