History of the ISD Part 4: UFOs – The Next Wave

In 1995, a new, greatly increased wave of sightings began, which continue to this day. At that time, private citizens were pressuring the White House to release information about Roswell and other UFO sightings via the FOI act. The ISD was reconstituted by a somewhat distracted President Clinton, and began their security efforts anew. Project Galactic, a manned mission to the alien homeworld was mounted. Vast amounts of money and resources were diverted to the project, similar to the Apollo project in scope, but completely secret. After twelve years of preparation, the flight left on January 31, 2008. A civilian picture was taken of the craft preparing for FTL jump over Indiana, but was carefully dismissed as a hoax. Galactic was probably the main reason we never returned to the moon.

About this time, the ISD became infiltrated with selfish individuals intent on developing alien technology for their own profit. Central to this technology was the Faster-Than-Light drive which could be used as the ultimate weapons delivery system. But the mission departed before they could get their hands on the technology. They were successful in embedding an agent on the mission, however.
